The Porkpie is recognized as the hat of many Jazz and Blues musicians in New Orleans.
Its name has a very literal meaning: food sellers would take battered old dress hats, trim off the damaged outer brim and reblock the hats over pie trays.

It gained popularity in the 1940's and is enjoying a renaissance 70 years later, often worn tipped back on the head!

Hand made men's Pork Pie style hat with a 2" raw edge brim, and a 4" flat crown.
Trimmed with a thin alligator embossed leather strap.

To measure your head:
Place a measuring tape on your forehead just above eyebrow level and pass it around your head, ensuring that the widest part of the head is included. Common sizes for women are about 21 1/2"/56 cm -23"/59.6 cm. Men are about 22"-24". It should be a snug measurement, I will add 1/2"/1.3cm for ease.
